Activities:
- In alphabetical order, write the word in syllables, the respelling, etymology, and definition for each word. Cite dictionary used and page #.
- Write a synonym and antonym for each word. Some words may not have both, write N/A.
- Use your vocabulary words to write an interplanetary letter. Start with a salutation. Ex. Dear Sir: We are a peaceful race. We will allow no armed missiles or weapons on the planet Xerses.
- Illustrate nine of the words. You may use clip art, pictures from a magazine, drawings, or any combination of mixed media. Use multiple illustrations per side of paper.
- Write the words four times each.
Challenge: For an extra 100 points, write an informational paragraph explaining the function of a car’s transmission OR write a paragraph explaining what role the missionaries played in the settlement of America.
