Activities:

1. _______  In alphabetical order write the words in syllables, the respelling, the part of speech, and a definition for each word.
2. _______ Write your own sentence for each word. Use one vocabulary word for each sentence. The sentence must be at least eight words not including articles. Underline the vocabulary word.
3. _______  Use five of the list words and write an alliteration phrase or sentence.  The alliteration should not be less than five words. 
4. _______  Write each word four times as neatly as you can. 
5. _______ Challenge! Pretend you are a philanthropist. You are donating $10,000.00 to a charity organization that is meaningful to you. Write a letter to the organization to inform them of your donation and the reasons behind your donation. Look online for help with proper letter-writing format.

a. Unit due and test on Friday, 1/11/13. Staple all completed unit activities to this cover sheet.

b. Cite the dictionary used and the page number where the word is found. You may use an online   

    dictionary. You may also check out a dictionary from Ms. Grinnell.

c. Your test will assess you on more than spelling and definitions.  Prepare well!
